Commenting on the success of the Forres in Bloom team at the Britain in Bloom Awards Highlands & Islands Regional MSP, Rhoda Grant ,said,
“ I was delighted to table a motion in the Scottish Parliament recognising the success of the Forres in Bloom volunteers in winning jointly the town category in the Britain in Bloom contest 2017.
"This great team of volunteers also received a gold and discretionary award for their work in taking over the previously run Moray Council greenhouses in Grant Park Forres and bringing on and growing over 30,000 plants of their own.
"I just cannot emphasise enough how much hard work and endeavour it takes to create and maintain the floral displays in Forres and the fact that the work is all done by volunteers is frankly remarkable.
"What they have achieved in their work is a magnet for tourists to come and visit the town thus boosting the local economy. Well done to all."
