Success of Inverness College UHI Student

Highlands & Islands Regional MSP, Rhoda Grant has tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament recognising the success of an Inverness College UHI photography student.

 Rhoda said ,

“ I am always keen to highlight or showcase any successes or good work by our young people.

“In this instance Evija Laivina was on one of five student photographers from around the world to be recognised at the LensCulture Portrait Awards.

“This is a worthy and well-earned achievement and I am delighted to not only congratulate Evija, but be in a position to table a Parliamentary Motion noting her success.

 “ There is no doubt that Evija looks like having a very promising future and this award and achievement will certainly look good on her CV

 

The text of Rhoda’s motion reads :

That the Parliament congratulates Evija Laivina, who has studied at Inverness College UHI since 2014, on being one of five student photographers from around the world to be recognised at the LensCulture Portrait Awards; understands that these awards celebrate people at the pinnacle of professional photography and the candidates submissions were judged by a panel of industry experts, including Susan White, who is the photography director for Vanity Fair and Phillip Prodger, who is the head of photography at the National Portrait Gallery, and wishes Evija every success with her career.
