Highlands and Islands MSP, Rhoda Grant, has tabled a motion in Parliament today congratulating Ally MacPherson, who formerly lived on Skye, on completing his 10 Island Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in the north of Scotland.
Mr MacPherson ran non-stop over 4 to 5 May to raise money for the charity and was encouraged throughout the challenge by his support team and communities along the way.
Rhoda said, “This was a tremendous effort by Ally, and all involved, and I believe it is right and fitting that his effort should be congratulated.
"Ally has smashed his target of £5,000, indeed I understand he’s almost doubled it, which is testament to the fantastic nature of the challenge and the endeavour put in.
Rhoda concluded, “Ally should be rightly proud of his efforts.”
